Reaction Time refers to the time it takes a person to respond to the presentation of a stimulus, such as the appearance of oncoming traffic, while driving.

Basic Reaction Time refers to the time it takes for a person to respond to the presentation of stimulus when there is no choice involved. In this chapter we consider Basic Reaction Time and off you an opportunity to test your own reaction time to non-choice stimuli.

In another chapter, you can find out about Choice Reaction Time in which reaction times are measured when there is a choice involved.

NOTE: For this unit, if you have not already done so (within the Stroop Effect experiment, for instance), you will need to download the IPL plugin. You will only need to do this once.
