The method for producing the amplitudes for each component of the Shepard-tone is calculated as follows:

A(t,c)=A(min) + (A(max)-A(min)* (1-cosT(t,c))/2

where L(t,c) is the amplitude of c of tone t;A(min) is the minimum amplitude; and A(max) is the maximum amplitude.

The value for teta (indicated by T) is defined according to:

T(t,c) = 2PI * [(c - 1) * t(max) + t - 1] / t(max) * c(max)
